This is the second video I’ve made with Phil and the Astroid Boys. It’s always great making videos with them, as they’re so positive and driven by their passion for making music and performing.

This video was approached with the intentions of making a live recording and video for the track Party and Bullshit, produced by my very good friend Exotope.
The live audio was recorded through the program Audicity onto a laptop, and I planned on grabbing facial shots for lip sync when the song was performed, and the rest of the performance shot for cutaways and crowd etc.

However, things didn’t exactly go to plan. There was no sound check for the recorded audio, and unfortunately it wasn’t balanced properly so the live track was unusable. And due to the size of the venue, it was so cramped I couldn’t obtained the ‘lip sync’ footage I needed to carry the live edit.

Instead I made an effective edit to summarise the evening vibe, which creates a nice fast paced music video for the song.

Equipment wise, I shot using my Canon 7D, Jag35 Shoulder Rig, and 160LED light. Lenses, I switched between my Tamron 17-50mm VC f/2.8 and my new Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8.

The track can be purchased from iTunes here.
